What would be the best type of shoes/boots to use when hiking in the Costa Rican rainforest in March?

Actually if you gonna hike through the main rainforest (Monteverde national park), you may as well just wear sneakers or whatever you're most comfortable in. The path is very easy and mostly covered with some type of hard surface that makes real hiking shoes a total overkill. Nothing funnier than to see tourists dressed like they going to cross the Amazon when you p them wearing flip flops ;-)
