Since Batman's not really dead how can he be a black lantern?

I went on wikipedia and was looking at the info on blackest night, and it said that batman was a black lantern, but at the end of Final Crisis we see that batman's not really dead, just trapped in time, so how is it that he's a black lantern but he's not really dead?
